Name: Pete Birthday: 12/25/1979 Gender: Male
Interests: Okay, please don't think I go for the 30-gallon sunglasses look. And yes I mean sunglasses, not hat. I just realized that I've got a pair of the dreadful things on in my profile pic; that shot's prolly five years old, and I like to think I've grown up a bit since then. :-) Prollem is I'm too lazy to change it, and I sorta like it; the hat amuses me greatly and flatters me none. . . that's a good combo, innit? And don't get me started on the current trucker hat and sunglasses trends; yes, you will be safe wearing such around me and yes I will still like you. . . I've a fairly articulate and descriptive vocabulary at my disposal (when I choose to avail myself of it), and yet somehow I find myself unable to fully express the depth of my opinion concerning the aforementioned articles and the wild polularity they currently enjoy. And yes, I realize this has absolutely nothing to do with my interests. . . Unfortunately, I've used up all my space, so we'll say computers, sports, photography. Expertise: * I can make scrambled eggs.
* I can make honey glazed chicken, too, which when combined with a whole wheat bagel and two slices of cheese gives me 55 grams of protein. Just what the doctor ordered after a hard workout. . . that's a lot of protein for one meal, by the way. :-)
* I can amuse myself at nearly any moment of any day under virtually any circumstances. . . and that's a good one. I just amused myself there with the scrambled eggs thing, btw. :-) Oh, and my profile pic; that amuses me too. Gotta love the hat.
* I occasionally notice trivial and utterly inconsequential details of my current environment.
* I know James 1:5-8 like the back of my hand.
* I'm learning a bit about computers. . .
***Inverse expertise***
I really really suck at some forms of electrical engineering, most notably anything involving transistors, op-amps or inductors/capacitors. I tried. Hard! I failed. miserably. My current theory is that it's based on dark magic, along with much of linear algebra Occupation: Student Industry: Computers (Software)

| Oops. I just realized that if any of you try to run the program I linked to in my previous post your computer will likely complain about not having glut.dll or something like that. And no, I'm very doubtful if restarting it will change anything, regardless what it tells you. Sorry. Rest assured that it doesn't mean anything's wrong or needs fixed with your computer if it gives you such a message. It just means some of the resources the program needs weren't installed on your computer. Hopefully these screenshots will sate your raging curiosity. . . I just added the ability to take screenshots this afternoon, by the way. Tomorrow I'm hoping to make a mirrored ball in the scene somewhere, which is what the second image is for. It's a distorted image that gets mapped onto an object in the environment, making it look mirrored. That's the theory, anyway. . . the spider's mobile, btw, and the little spotlight follows it around like a lost puppy. Haven't learnt how to make it bark or mark tires yet . . .
Makes me look like a nerd, posting this stuff, eh? Sad. . .

| Hmmm. . . well, I'm dreadfully busy in school right now, so I haven't the time to really do anything with this. I'm not sure why I even reserved a site for m'self; I'm pretty sure I won't use it. . . I should've started one five years ago when I started school, but it's a little late to be thinking that now, eh? And by the time I do have the time to keep it updated I'm hoping to be back working around Garrett County, where most of the folks that really matter to me reside. . . and where I really wouldn't need a xanga site. Lovely how life works sometimes, innit? Anyway, I need to get to bed right now, seeing that it's close 1:00 and I'm behind on sleep anyway. If you're interested in seeing what I've been up to, here's my third lab project from a series of four that I have to do for my CSE 581 class. Here's a readme file you should read before you mess with it just so you know what you can do. For both of these, you should prolly right-click the links and download 'em to your computer somewhere before you open them. And now that I've written my introductory (and likely valedictory) message, I will graciously bow out and begin the looong trek across campus to my car... | | |
